Delta Airlines is certainly one of the best airlines in terms of minor policies. In case a minor is travelling solo in the flight. Then it is essential for an adult (18 years or above) to accompany him at the airport during the process of check-in. Also an adult would be required to receive the minor at the destination. Required documents- 

  • Once you’re at the Airport, then you would first need to visit the Customer executive of Delta. So, that you can share the information regarding the drop off and the pick up of the minor. 
  • The executive will hand over a band to you. The minor would need to wear that band throughout his or her journey. 
  • These are the mandatory documents, which the child is supposed to carry. photo ID, address, contact phone number, name and the address of the person who will pick up the minor at the destination. 

Boarding procedure for the unaccompanied minor-

  • The adult who is with the minor at the time of check -in, has to make sure that he/she does not leave the departure gate, until the flight has taken off. 
  • In case the minor is travelling in a connecting flight. Then he/she will be taken care of by the Delta Airline’s staff. 
  • It is recommended by Delta Airlines that minors should be seated near a flight attendant.
